Being a Haitian Born woman, with a Lebanese family, well-traveled, a student in a very diverse school, and chiefly owner of a business operating in the beauty industry I had to get her opinion on the strong criticisms of the industry for not being focused enough on diversity. She explains that beauty to her is very diverse and as far as she is concerned every woman is beautiful. She later shifts the diversity conversation while speaking of other companies in the industry judging them almost solely based on their level of authenticity, something which is very common in this generation. She mentions "Frank Body, on Instagram they have a really good.” diversity of models, and it's super cool the way they portray their brand, they even curse. She emphasizes “sort of like, what you see is what you get." When I ask about classmates who are also entrepreneurs that she has connected with, Alexa mentions that from day one she formed a special bond with Chidimma Nwankwo. A fellow beauty industry

enthusiast and someone she believes is doing a great job promoting a positive image of beauty on Instagram. She states, "We have just been clicking and giving each other ideas."

We go on to discuss her life as a student, how she balances her studies with managing her business and how her time at Hult has impacted her. Naturally, she explained that she had a tougher time balancing school with the business at the beginning of the program. However, her mother helped a lot and she learned to discipline herself. Devoting specific time slots in her schedule to her business which as she explains is "a really big priority in my life." As for what she has learned at Hult that she plans to apply to her business, Alexa states "To always innovate. There will always be competition, but you need to be ready to answer back with innovation." Her dreams are to launch a website and sell her products at Whole Foods.
