HULTIAN: What advice do you
have for current/future students
in your field?
increasingly chaotic and uncertain so
this is a must for every global
multinational. And the ones who don’t
think about this and dedicate resources
to managing political risk, do so at their
peril. On the Women’s Leadership and
Gender Intelligence front there is
tremendous energy on every front and
it is exciting to see so many women,
and the men who support them,
engaging in a variety of initiatives.
What is most heartening is to see so
many companies factoring this into
their hiring, training and retention
practices like never before. For my
part, I want to continue to work in both
spaces – Corporate Diplomacy &
Women’s Leadership -- doing what I
can to make a difference and distill out
lessons learned and best practices
wherever I can to help not only
companies work more effectively now
and in the future but also to better
equip and empower the next
generation of global leaders.
C: Work is the mortgage you take out
on your life. Take the time to find your
passion and calling which is the
alignment of what you’re most
passionate about and your strengths
with the world’s greatest needs. Then
pursue it fearlessly. There is nothing
more
energizing,
influential
or
inspiring than someone pursuing their
passions. It draws others to you and
you are able to weather life’s inevitable
ups and downs more effectively. I
would also encourage Hultians to look
for jobs and experiences that build on
your social capital. The greater your
social capital – trusted relationships
from around the world – the more
opportunities
you
will
unlock
throughout your career and the more
fulfilled you will be long-term. And
finally, find a way to serve your
community in some way every day. I
have always found that a life filled with
service not only enriches your soul but
fuels you in a way like no other. I have
no desire to work with or be around
people who don’t have service as one of
their core values.
HULTIAN: What are some skills
or projects you developed outside
of work which aided you to reach
your position today?
C: Story-telling. I grew up listening and
learning from great story tellers in my
family and I never appreciated the
value of that experience until I worked
with leading brand builders from
around the world and they all placed
incredible importance on the value of
storytelling. It is the cornerstone of
influence and there are so few who do it
well. I also appreciate being raised to
