’ve never been someone who’s just
passively accepted the status quo as far
as my life’s concerned. I believe it’s
important to give yourself a reason to
strive to reach new heights every single
day. I like to wake up every morning
I
excited by what’s in store for me, knowing I’ll give
everything I have to make my day as successful as
possible.
Many of the people I talk to aren’t happy with where
they are in life for one reason or another. They talk
about having too much work to do, not being able to
get their dream jobs, not knowing how to study and get
great marks in their exams or not being able to stop
themselves from spending too much time in front of
their devices. It’s almost as if everyone’s looking for
life to do something special for them in the first place
before they feel like being thankful for everything
they’ve already got.
Here’s a quote to put things into perspective:
“It is not joy that makes us grateful. It is gratitude that
makes us joyful.” - David Steindl-Rast
My approach is to treat life as this wonderful, delightful
gift that you’ve been given and which you must try to
make use of in the best way possible. Too many people
in the world today think of their lives as anything but.
Simply put, these are the steps I’d recommend for when
you’re stuck on how to make the most out of what
you’ve been given:
- Start by compiling an ordered list (by priority) of the
key areas of your life in which you think you need to be
performing well to feel totally happy and secure on the
inside. Examples are career, family, fitness and so on.
