Campus Spotlight: Life in Dubai Salomey Osafo- Ampadu Hult MIB Dubai am an embodiment of the Hult personality: though my passport identifies me with a particular country, I am a global citizen. What do I mean when I say I’m a global citizen? I was born in Ghana but grew up in Japan. I I studied Actuarial Science (Risk Management) in my undergraduate. Much like other students in Hult, I moved to Dubai chasing after ambitions and the desire to unleash my full potential and immerse myself in a career path that I have true passion in. Fueled by the drive to become the best me, I came to Hult Dubai campus with the plan to take advantage of every opportunity the campus and the program had to offer. One of the cool things the small Dubai campus has to offer is the close community consisting of the students, staff and even some of the alumni. Every professor is able to know each student in his/her class and career services know each person by name. During Module A, programs organized by career services allowed me to network and even gain interview for internships in some cases. A good example of this would be the Nescafe challenge, where we were asked to form student teams of four people and come up with a dynamic marketing strategy for Nescafe’s mixes category in the Middle East. The prize for the winning team was an opportunity to be interviewed for an internship with Nescafe. Unfortunately, I was not in the winning team, but in just two weeks I learned scores of information on market research and data presentation that have enhanced my self-value. I also participated in the Hult Prize competition where the challenge enabled me to not only come up with a business idea and model with my team, but an experience and exposure that sharpened me.
