iving in the Bay Area, the mecca of
technology and entrepreneurship, it is
practically impossible not to immerse
ourselves in learning more about these
topics. As a person who is passionate
about marketing and fashion, I started
L
looking for ways to expand my knowledge in those
areas. IoT, 3D printing, Wearable Tech, Blockchain
and many other technological trends are transforming
the way we are living and engaging with our
environment.
My knowledge regarding this field was limited, but I
was looking forward to learning more about it. That is
why, one morning early this year, while surfing on the
internet, I found the event that mixed all my passions
into one. The TECH Fashion Week is the first industry
event for tech disruptors and creators, aimed at
discovering and discussing the latest developments in
fashion, through the lens of technology. This year’s
edition, the fifth in its history in the Bay Area, carried
the theme "Digital Fashion's Coming of Age" and
explored how creative vision and digital infrastructure
come together in redefining the fashion landscape of
the 21st century.
TECH Fashion Week's full schedule of events and
workshops featured cutting-edge fashion, design and
technology companies, startups and entrepreneurs
showcasing current developments from all sectors in
the Fashion Tech eco-system. The week-long event
included workshops, panel discussions and networking
mixers, highlighted the applications of Virtual &
Augmented Reality, retail tech, wearables, IoT and
sustainability in the fashion ecosystem. It was the
perfect opportunity to connect with the innovative and
forward-thinking fashion-tech community.
This year, thanks to its Executive Director Owen
Geronimo, founder of the SFFAMA, Inc., I had the
opportunity to be part of the organizing committee,
