The blood, sweat and tears that culminate in the creation of a masterpiece also help contribute to the forging of a personality. For Wiebe, the 1968 Firebird was the actualization of everything he ever dreamed of in a car. Upon attaining one, the suspension, engine and other minor dress-ups were vital to making the car his own. For a while, the car was his entire life. It helps a lot too when you know you’ve got the only one of a certain model in your entire town. For Mark Dimilo, owner of Dimilo’s Auto Body Shop also in Leamington, having two of the only three 1968 Dodge Chargers in the whole town cements his status as an enthusiast. While Dimilo was inspired to own one after watching Dukes of Hazzard at an early age, the original hemi orange of the General Lee was superseded by his own preference, for at least one of his Chargers- a silky jet black, with a collage of skeletons painted on the tail, eternally chasing him and warning tailgaters of their own fate.
