In November, five upper grade CDS Robotics teams competed against other area Fourth through Eighth graders in the First LEGO League Qualifiers. First competitions consist of three individual contests, where students are evaluated on their robot design and performance, core values (including teamwork and problem solving), and a problem-solution project. This year’s challenge, City Shapers, asked students to identify a problem involving a structure or public space and develop an effective solution.

The results were outstanding! CDS’s four-year-old robotics program has now produced team wins in every category except for the very highest honor, qualification for the World Championship. The Sixth Grade team, Harry Botter and the Deathly Owls, will have an opportunity to get one step closer to that next month when they compete in the Regional Qualifying round.

Congratulations to all five teams for their hard work and performance!
