Third Grade Pioneer Studies

Third Graders in Mrs. Hunnicutt's language arts and social studies classes will be heading back in time this year to read about, write about, and experience what life was like for early settlers in the United States. Their first taste of this time came when they learned to make their own applesauce!

The pioneers used to hand cook and roast their apples over the fire. That's how it would be warm. It's definitely harder to make applesauce this way than buying it at the store, but that's just what we do. My family buys the big packages at Costco.
