"let noone's heart fail because of him" (Samuel 1: 32-33)

Saul Attempted murder

It all started when I heard Goliath yell, choose a man to fight me, if he is able to kill me then we will become your servants (Samuel 1: 9). Then I asked a soldier what is the prize for killing this giant? he replied, "The king will greatly enrich the man who kills him, and will give his daughter" (Samuel 1: 25-26).

My brother was very angry at me for having the thought of fighting Goliath, but I was convinced that i could do it. Next I went to King Saul and asked for his permission to fight, he said, "you are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him, you are just a boy and he was a warrior in his youth" (Samuel 1: 33-34). Also, he is ten times you size! I argued, saying that I have killed lions who attacked my sheep, your people are much like my sheep, and I will defend them. I will be the true King of Israel!

King Saul was seen in the act of attempted murder! Late one night an evil spirit came upon Saul, he took a spear and threw it at David who was playing the lyre. Luckily David dodged the spear and got out of the room.

Saul: I was afraid of David because the LORD was with him but had departed from me!" (Samuel 1: 12-13). I have made David the commander of a thousand and all of Israel and Judah will love him (Samuel 1: 13-16).
