Your wedding will likely be one of the most important, emotional and memorable events in your life. You’ve done the Pinterest board, saved the pennies and booked the dream venue; now it’s time to make the day unique.
Flowers add life and colour to the proceedings and have long been part of both traditional and unconventional weddings. They can also be the decorative element that really cements your style and the overall feel of the day - from a rustic country affair, to sumptuous and lavish celebrations.
Organising your wedding flowers can be daunting; there is so much choice and it’s easy to get carried away with ideas. Don’t worry about busting the budget though! There are many ways achieve a luxe look and indulge without going over the top:
• Find a florist you really trust and who understands your vision... they will be able to suggest flowers that are more cost effective for the look you’re trying to create.
• Be open minded and let the florist guide you... working with hire equipment they already have in stock and going with their suggestions will usually reduce the price significantly.
• Spend on showstoppers rather than fiddly stuff... you’ll
get much more impact by spending big on fewer but larger arrangements. These can
also often be moved from the ceremony to the reception so they can be enjoyed all day.
• At the very least, make sure the bridal party flowers are stunning... try to not scrimp here as the bouquets will feature in so many of your pictures and actually tend to photograph a little smaller than they look in person.
