was always in control. Jacob did not win the wrestling match
but he won in the long haul. He was close to the Great Lion
and victory did not look how he wanted it to but it looked
like how God intended. He exited the match better than he
entered the match.
The Great Lion is always in control. Even when we don’t
understand God is always in control. Daniel was close to
the Great Lion and he was thrown into a den full of lions but
God was in control. That narrative revealed that the intent
to destroy Daniel was thwarted because of his closeness to
the Great Lion. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego because
of their closeness to the Great Lion was bound and thrown
into a fiery furnace, to burn to death, but God was in con-
trol. Their story exposes that although they were thrown
into the furnace it was rendered ineffective because of their
closeness to the Great Lion. Jacob became greater because
of his closeness to the Great Lion. The mother who lost her
child is still thriving because of her closeness to the Great
Lion. That wife who lost her husband has further involved
herself in Kingdom work because of her closeness to the
Great Lion. That family right in the face of death declared
their trust in God with tears in their eyes because of their
closeness to the Great Lion. While being close to the Great
Lion places you in the line of danger it also positions you in
the line for deliverance. There is danger but there is deliver-
ance because of being close to the Great Lion. In the end the
Great Lion is lovable.
