You cannot visit the Dordogne without a trip to Beynac, a magical town built into the hillside. Take a boat ride from here and be amazed by the many castles hidden behind the tree lined river banks. Sarlat, a magnificent medieval village is definitely one not to miss. The Dordogne boasts world famous caves filled with stalactites and stalagmites and some even have prehistoric paintings on the walls of the caves.
