GUARDING THE COVE CAN BE A 24-HOUR PROCESS FOR YOU AND YOUR TEAM. HOW DO YOU SHARE THE TASK?

First, everyone here on the ground is a volunteer. Nobody is salaried or paid, and we all come from around the world. At the moment we have volunteers from Australia, Germany, UK, Austria, Italy, Spain, USA.
We start out at sunrise, we go to the harbour and we monitor the boats each morning. If there is a drive, we are able to monitor it immediately and post it on social medias. If there is going to be a slaughter or captive selection, we are live streaming everything. It is almost a 24-hour process. Some days it can be over in a few hours, some days we don’t return until later in the day. Then we review our videos and photos and we post all information for the media, including social medias. Occasionally, it can be completeled at 11pm. Our hours are long and it is very exhausting mentally and physically. We sometimes have to climb hills and stairs to get the best vantage points. We are very limited.
This isn’t out in the open, they try to hide everything with tarps and barriers, and we are followed by the police.
They want to hide what they claim is ‘tradition and culture’. They don’t want to expose this to the world.
