is the smallest and perhaps the most endangered cetacean on the planet.
The summer of 2016 has seen the Sea Shepherd fleet active on many fronts. Our ship the Bob Barker intercepted and arrested three Chinese trawlers fishing illegally in the territorial waters of Gabon in June. The 38 crew of the Bob Barker includes 7 armed Gabonese Naval officers and 3 Gabonese Fisheries officers. The ships were released after paying a 400,000 Euro fine. More importantly the arrest caused other Chinese trawlers to leave the territorial waters. In early August the crew of the Bob Barker busted a Spanish trawler inside the territorial waters of Sao Tome Principe. The vessel was in violation of European Union regulations prohibiting the finning of sharks.
