Two major celestial events are happening today. First, Venus is going direct after retrograding for 40 days and 40 nights, causing some havoc around finance and relationships.
The second event is the New Moon in Aquarius which marks the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Horse! Happy New Year!
For those of us who had suffered some setbacks and misadventures with our partners in work or life (or both) since Dec 21st, things are suppose to pick up and return to normal. Money or funds that were held back will be released. Arguments and stalemates resolved and in general, a sense and feeling of relief.
Since Mercury will begin its retrograde motion on Feb 6th, you have a week or so to sign documents, lease a car or an apartment and make important purchases. From Feb 6th Mercury goes retro and when it finally turns direct on Feb 28th, Mars will go retrograde for two months a day later.

The Chinese New Year begins on New Moon in Aquarius because it is the lunation that falls right between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, tying the end and the beginning. I find it fascinating since Aquarius is the sign that represents the future, hopes and wishes manifest. The Star is the Tarot card for Aquarius and we do make our wishes when a star falls...So if you ever wondered when is the best time for a New Year's resolution, it is definitely now, on the Chinese New Year, which brings a swell of powerful waves we can use to make things happen.
Why should I care?
For the next year, close to one and a half billion Chinese will think, project, feel, and focus on the horse as their guide and symbol which means that whether you believe in the animal zodiac or not, there will be horses running the astral plane, so my suggestion is: grab one and start riding!
