Salvation through Born Again 66 38 in another place it is written that - the glory of children is their parents, so take them to you in their old age. 39 Is the scripture exhorting you regarding sons? If this scripture is about them, then their father’s property is also theirs. 40 If the scripture is also for the daughters, then we can say they will have their share in their father’s property. 41 II Finally, o church, a young man desires dowry make himself nothing but contemptible? By this we understand that he who desires dowry is making himself contemptible and worthless? 42 Do not forget that whoever asks for dowry for their son they are making their son a weak person. 43 A virgin’s parents should remember this: if they are willing to give dowry for their daughter they are making their daughter immature, and unworthy to get into a family system. If your dau- ghter is worthy of family system, why then are you giving dowry to (them) her? You are giving do- wry as she is unworthy of family system and has some mistakes. The Salvation is the Gift of God 44 O parents of virgins – is your daughter unworthy of marital life? Is she not able to bear the family responsibility? Why do you prefer to give dowry? Do you fear that no one is going to marry your daughter if you do not offer dowry? 45 In this matter do you not believe the Holy Spirit’s word – He cares for you and for your family (children)? 46 II O unmarried young men and young women, are you feeble? Are you sold for money? Are you like things available in a market? 47 Alas, many youngsters are sold in the name of dowry. O youngsters, prove you strong in this matter. 48 Meditate on Salmon. Take the example of Isaac. Find your rib according to the Lord’s will, be blessed by the Lord. When will you be proved to be strong and wise? 49 II O virgins (young women), do you own your husband’s with your money? Do your husbands who you owned by your money love you or love your money? 50 Do they not love you by the Salvation through Born Again 67 money you gave them? Aren’t you the one who encourage the social evil practice dowry? 51 Is not Satan killing many pe- ople with this social evil prac- tice? When will you be wise then? 52 II O church, I write you a word: A rich man who seeks a bridegroom for his born again daughter, according to the will of the Lord if he thinks that a poor youngster’s rib is his daughter, 53 he has to bear the marriage expenses so that the young man may not run into debts. This is also a generous love? 54 Similarly, rich parents of a yo- ung man find a poor born young virgin to be their son’s rib acco- rding to the will of God, 55 see that the virgin’s parents should not be tempted to run into debts, in getting their daughter married, the young man’s pare- nts should bear the marriage expenditure and prove their love for Christ. 56 If both the families are poor, they have to fulfill the Lord’s principle by bearing each other’s burden according to the will of the Lord. Nothing else. The Salvation is the Gift of God 57 Do not forget one more thing - if anyone gives to his daughter, he should give it with love. If anyone gives to his rib, he has to do that help only as he purpo- ses in his heart. So, no one sho- uld run into debts. In this matter - one should not give more than what he has but see that without debts. If the youngster’s par- ents are rich enough – their abu- ndance may supply the virgin’s lack, and if a virgin’s parents are rich enough - their abundance may supply youngster’s lack. 58 Because – love does not in- cur debts, does not boast, does not have grudge. So behave in a way to give glory to the Lord. 59 He who brings dishonor to the Lord, whoever it may be, will be thrown into the hell. 60 Likewise whoever receives should receive the fact that he is a slave to the giver. 61 Because, do not forget the truth that - the scripture says the borrower is a servant to the len- der. 62 But a woman among you says boastfully–I would get my son married to those who give dowry.
