ans, observe lent days like gent-
iles.
43 One observes 40 days fasting
as lent days. He calls it days of
suffering, separating a month to
observe this degrading him more
than the gentile man.
44 He argues the Lord observed
fasting for forty days during his
trial before his death?
45 He who argues like this is like
a wild donkey not knowing any-
thing – we read – after baptism
JESUS was driven by the spirit
into the wilderness, and He fasted
there forty days and began to
preach the gospel?
46 Has He ever commanded us
to fast like Him or commanded
to specify a day to fast?
47 If anyone wearing white
clothes, wearing cross around
their neck or waist, walking bare-
foot, sleeping on the floor,
48 without tonsuring or cutting
head, keeping himself away from
intoxications, sins and bad- hab-
its, doing charity works,

49 utters his mouth – “O God!
Forgive, I am a sinner, and have
mercy upon me”, gets his heart

50 is it fasting to apply ashes on
forehead and put on sack-
cloth? The Holy Spirit spoke
through prophet Isaiah that -

51 do not follow lent days as
gentiles but observe fasting only
to overcome the temptation of
Satan according to the Lord’s

52 One can spend closer to
God in fasting in the days conv-
enient to him. During that time
he should anoint his head as the
Lord said and meditate on the
word of God in His presence
praising and praying to God until
sunset.
53 We have already said that
all days in the week are good
with the help of scriptures by the
authority of GOD,
54 so if anyone comes to you
about days of suffering we have
previously by the help of the
word of GOD condemned him.
