That evening, I headed out to join some friends at a restaurant. As I entered the garage,
my car’s engine unexpectedly roared to life. Startled at the noise, I dropped my bag. Before
I could reach down and retrieve it, the car’s headlights came on and the DLCx backed out
of its space, rolled down the aisle, and stopped next to where I stood. The door swung open
and from within I could hear the soft strains of music.
My heart pounded. Was I imagining this?
The right headlight winked. Twice.
“Tootles? Dear Tootles! Welcome home.”
