The Ghouls' Review Spring 2015 | Page 7

Tomorrow you’ll continue your cross-America motorcycle trip, but right now you relax and bask in the warmth of new friends, music, and a night of strange and extraordinary experiences the world rarely bestows. You throw knives. You fire a handgun in a private indoor shooting range with a southern BBQ grandmaster. You chat with a man who did sound for Jimi Hendrix and drove classic motorcycles. You meet the unassuming young guy who started the whole sign-twirling-whiledancing-on-the-roadside marketing phenomenon. As the night winds down with your eccentric and gracious host playing by memory incredible songs on his piano, his and others’ voices filling all the quiet corners of his home, your mind feels numb in the best possible way. The world is filled with wonders. You understand that now, and you’re relieved you said yes to uncertainty. Wayward Mind Spring 2015 7
