Review: The Bentley Bentayga Diesel “The Most Luxurious & Practical SUV on the Market” Words & Imagery By Sebastian Oakley The Gentleman Magazine reviewed the new Bentley Bentayga Diesel at Badminton Horse Trials and we can say that the Bentayga is simply the most luxurious and practical SUV on the market to date. Our review model had a fantastic paint colour called Thunder which really showed off the contours within the Bentayga’s bodywork. It had the standard seating arrangement for rear passengers; a 7 seat configuration is available. It featured the fantastic Naim for Bentley Premium Audio system and entertainment pack which consists of two independent screens for the rear passengers which act as viewing screens for your chosen media such as DVDs, Music, Maps or TV however, once unlocked from their stands they can act as standalone tablets powered by the android ecosystem. This coupled with the main hide being a rich light sand colour which Bentley are calling Portland and a lovely deep brown for the secondary hide which is called Beluga and the Liquid Amber veneer made being inside the Bentayga a pure joy. 20 | The Gentleman Magazine Our model was also fitted with the Mulliner Driving Specification where the standard 16” wheels are removed and you gain a 22” wheel set, the vehicle we reviewed had the 5 spoke design. Also on offer are colour specification, diamond quilting to the seats and doors, drilled alloy sports foot pedals with matching foot rest, embroidered Bentley emblems which our model had however, these are an optional extra. We personally feel this 5 spoke design from the Mulliner Driving Specification is the best wheel option to go for as it really shows off the Bentayga at its best in all terrains and weather conditions giving the vehicle a lot of presence, not that it hasn’t got that already! We set out to use the Bentayga, as we would our own car, when covering an event we have a lot of equipment and were extremely impressed with the boot space. Having three people covering an event you always have a tricky time transporting everyone’s equipment such as cameras, computers, clothing etc but we can say the Bentayga took it all in its stride without us having to reorganise a single item.
