Ali Khamis, Hassan Mahboob, Dejene
Regassa, Genzeb Shumi, Shitaye Eshete
Mubarak and Tareq Mubarak Taher. The
athletics event is scheduled to take place
from September 25 to 29.
The taekwondo team, who also arrived
at the sports village in Palembang and also
kick-started their preparations, is being
managed by Tawfeeq Nuwaiser of Jordan.
Spearheading Bahrain in taekwondo
will be five of their best martial arts fighters, namely Hamad Al Binkhalil, Hesham
Al Hashimi, Fahad Al Bosta, Mohammed
Ahmed and Fajar Al Binali, who is due to
join the team training in the next few days.
Their events will be held from September
28 to October 1.

Bahrain had mixed fortune on the first
day of the Third Islamic Solidarity Games,
being held in Palembang, in Indonesia.
The nationals kick-started their campaign in karate, where two women players
were seen in action. Sara Al Sabah won
her first kata fight against her Palestinean
opponent 5-0, but lost her next clash to an
