LOOKING FOR RESPECT
Bradley wants to prove his
previous win was no fluke
history. However, the unbeaten American
five-division world champion is using
endless excuses just to avoid him.
At least this next fight for Pacquiao
will keep a superfight with Mayweather
alive. That’s why, obviously, Pacquiao
can’t afford another devastating defeat to
Bradley.
A second win for Bradley, assuming
there is no questionable scoring, would
all but wipe out the controversy from the
first fight. It would be the icing on the
cake of a career that is filled with quality
victories. Could Bradley also be in line
for a shot at Mayweather with a win?
Possibly.
Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz
believes the Filipino ring icon needs a
knockout in the rematch to re-establish
himself as an elite fighter.
Koncz said that he was glad Bradley
told Pacquiao straight to his face that
he is a great person, a great fighter “but
you’ve lost it. You’ve lost your power and
you lost your killer instinct.”
“They (Bradley’s comments) put a
fire under Manny,” said Koncz who has
served Pacquiao for some nine years.
“We spoke about it and Manny knows
this is a very important fight. A 12-round
decision is not going to do anything for
Manny and his career. If it’s a 12-round
decision, it may be time to sit down
and discuss what Manny wants to do in
boxing,” said Koncz, emphasizing that
Pacquiao “needs a knockout in this fight.”
The adviser conceded that even
before the fight against Brandon “Bam
Bam” Rios, he said it was probably the
most important fight in Pacquiao’s career
and at that point in time, it was.
S BRADLEY II
Pacquiao’s best option now is to beat
Bradley convincingly.
Remember, Pacquiao was knocked
out by Juan Manuel Marquez a few
months after the Bradley bout, and he
took nearly a year off before returning to
dominate Brandon Rios in Macau.
On the other hand, Bradley (31-0) has
done a lot sinc
