DHONI REFUSES TO ANSWER ON IPL FIXING SCANDAL
Indian skipper MS Dhoni continued to remain mum over his alleged involvement in
IPL fixing scandal.
Dhoni and Suresh Raina are among the six capped Indian players named in the
Mudgal Panel report, media reports claimed.
Bookie Uttam Jain alias Kitti has named Dhoni and Raina in connection with
IPL spot-fixing and betting when confronted by Trichi Railway SP Sampat Kumar,
informed Mudgal.
The committee, investigating spot-fixing and betting in the IPL, reported that
a journalist, who was apparently connected with recording of tapes for a sports
magazine, could identify the voice of the Indian player and he had also stated that
the player was part of the team which played the World Cup and a member of the
team now.
LEBRON’S 60-POINT
EXPLOSION RECORD
LeBron James became
the 18th player in the last
51 years to record a 60point game last March 3,
scoring a career-high and
Miami Heat franchise-best
61 points in a 124-107
win over the Charlotte
Bobcats at AmericanAirlines Arena.
James made 22 of 33
field-goal attempts, including 8 of 10 from 3-point
range — he made his
first eight, going without a
miss from downtown until
the 5:17 mark of the fourth
quarter — and 9 for 12
from the free-throw line to
go with seven rebounds
and five assists in 41-plus
minutes of floor time. He’s
just the fifth player since
1985 to put up a 60-5-5,
joining David Robinson,
Michael Jordan, Tracy
McGrady and Gilbert
Arenas.
James surpassed both
his own career high of 56,
set (somewhat remarkably) in a Cleveland Cavaliers loss to the Toronto
Raptors back in 2005,
and the Heat’s franchise
record of 56, set by Glen
Rice in an April 1995 win
over the Orlando Magic,
with a sweet spin around
Chris Douglas-Roberts
and a finish through three
Charlotte defenders at the
5:46 mark of the fourth.
BRYANT OUT FOR
REST OF SEASON
Hobbled five-time NBA
champion Kobe Bryant of
the the Los Angeles Lakers
has been shut down for the
season in a crowning blow to
an abysmal year for the storied
franchise.
Bryant, 35, has not played
since December 17 when he
fractured his knee during a
game against Memphis after
having missed the first 19
games of the 2013-14 NBA
season recovering from a torn
Achilles from last April.
“Obviously this has been a
frustrating and disappointing
season, but I appreciate all
the support I've received from
the Lakers and the fans, and
look forward to being back and
ready for the start of training
camp,” Bryant said in a statement.
The sixteen-time All-Star,
who has played six games
this season, was examined
by the team's physician, who
determined that the injury has
still not healed.
