CONNECTION

Employer Connection is a free employer
outreach service managed by Transit Services
of Frederick County.
The service assists Frederick County employers in developing and
implementing transportation benefits that work best for the company
and for its employees.
Benefits of Employer Connection include, but are not limited to,
implementation of a formal telework program, compressed workweek
or flex scheduling, pre-tax transit benefits and free ridematching
and vanpooling services — all things that can help save a company
money while also retaining quality employees.
Employer Connection can provide the
following benefits:
Reduced costs to the employer for:
• Operational and overhead costs, such as electricity or HVAC
services. Implementing a formal telework program helps to
reduce the amount of office space that needs heating and
cooling or lighting, which helps an employer to reduce
operating expenses.
• Reduce employees’ commuting stress by providing transportation
benefits such as flex scheduling or a compressed workweek.
Reducing employees’ commuting stress allows them to be
more present at work.
• Implementing a formal telework program for employees to
use at least once per week or under specific circumstances also
helps to improve employee morale, satisfaction with their job,
and give them a sense of empowerment.
• New hires by retaining current employees. Employees who
are satisfied with work and enjoy working for a company
with great benefits are more likely to stay with that company. Neighboring counties and jurisdictions have similar programs
to Employer Connection allowing for regional recognition from
thriving programs.
