As Steve Jobs once said; " The best way to create value in the 21st century is to connect creativity with technology" and Verdala students are constantly demonstrating this through their work across all disciplines.

My education at Verdala International School (VIS) gave me the confidence to be bold and inventive with my ideas. I believe VIS was a very significant experience for me because of the classes that contained more than forty different nationalities which made me more equipped to handle all situation that involved different cultures. These multicultural experiences have shaped me into the person that I am today changing my outlook. With the help of the teachers and hard work completing all possible opportunities that they offer (such as the IGSCE, IB and SATs) joining school groups like the Model United Nations, VIS managed to create many opportunities in regards to my career and to create lifelong friends.

Throughout my time in VIS to help decide which career path to take, I had a frequent meeting with Ms Trapani my College Counsellor some that even included my family. My choice for a career in both business and hospitality was re-enforced in the university fair that VIS conducted in my senior year. Initially, I searched for the country that is known for its excellence in education and hospitality, Switzerland. From there on I narrowed down my search further with my budget, scholarships and the degrees in question. Afterwards, I went to visit my choice BHMS (who provided a joint degree in both fields with work experience integrated into the program) in person during the break to get a better understanding and apply.

After my high school graduation, I attended BHMS for two years earning my diploma and higher diploma. Whilst working for a 5* hotel an insightful talk with the General Manager, inspired me to transfer to one of the best universities in the world for my fields Les Roches in Switzerland to obtain my Bachelor of Business Administration studies in International Hotel Management. It is there that I met Ms Trapani again, it was such a pleasant surprise.

The foundation of the necessary skills like time management, working in an international environment and problem solving were cemented in VIS and further expanded on my studies and work experience. Currently, I am studying a dual master’s program in Strategic Marketing and Luxury Brand Management at the London School of Business and Finance in collaboration with two other institutions in Rome and Geneva. I wanted to thank VIS.
