Message

Staff felt it was very important for our students to have a chance to really get to know all the children within their grade. Although the teachers at times do combine the classes for a special outdoor lesson, we created our “Friday Focus” time which takes place after lunch every Friday. The class teachers, teaching assistants and special subject teachers meet to plan activities which mix the students up into different groups.

These activities are based around a different theme or focus and include art, music, dance and games, as well as subject based tasks. Our first Friday Focus theme was an introduction to the 8 International Primary Curriculum Personal Learning Goals. After that, we have either based the theme on a special calendar event or one of the Personal Learning Goals. In the pages that follow, read through a sampling of our themes and activities.
