New Staff 2020-2022 Introductions
Hello all! My name is Chiara Ferloni. I was born in Monza, Italy but grew up in Montenegro, Uganda, England, and Jerusalem! I studied psychology in Birmingham and creative writing in London before getting into teaching. I love to travel, explore different cultures, meet new people and laugh – which I do a lot of. I love to cook almost as much as I love to eat and spend most of my free time with friends and family! I’m looking forward to learning and growing alongside my students.
As a student teacher I spent three weeks at Verdala (just in time before lockdown!) and loved every moment of it. I can’t wait to see what excitement being part of the vibrant VIS team holds as your Elementary Edtech Teacher!
I believe that I am a conscientious, flexible, adaptable enthusiastic, and diligent (modest ????) educator. Over the years I undertook many roles as a teacher of Geography, ToK, and Anthropology, cross three programmes, National in Bosnia and Hercegovina, GCSE, and A level in UK and MYP and DP International programmes. I was also IBDP coordinator, Head of Humanities department an IBDP consultant and I enjoyed every minute of this,

My name is Jean Claude Mangan and I am from Cameroon. Yes, my name suggests that I speak French, which is correct. I have been an educator for the past 15 years in Senegal and in the United Arab Emirates. I am married and have two daughters. We are so excited to join the Verdala community and I will be a Secondary Science Teacher. I am a football enthusiast and martial art instructor who enjoys walking, discovering new sports and new cultures. I am looking forward to being at VIS and starting a new and amazing experience in Malta.
I realise now, life long journey. The cultural diversity, within the IBO family, is the thing which I appreciate the most as the IBO philosophy, could be considered perhaps to be based on cultural similarities not on differences.
I also enjoy all sports activities, love to read and adore cooking.
