The Counsellor’s office has been rather buzzing and busy with students and parents working on applications to universities. With passion, pride and dedication, together with strong belief in students’ capabilities – searching for the best fit between individual grade 12 students and their dreams – has been an invigorating challenge.

And yet, continues to be! Applications are being sent to the UK, USA, The Netherlands, Sweden, Japan and Italy. Students are continually supported and guided by faculty, to bring out the best in themselves. Not only academically, but also in terms of skills development, strengthening students’ engagement with their work load, as well as developing life management skills.

The office, together with other faculty members, is likewise actively engaged in monitoring students’ progress through High School. Checking on possible emotional blockages to studying and fears about students’ potential to succeed is a way to take preventive action before grades go down and enter into dangerous territory. The underlying mantra is to support students to become who they want to become.

These coming weeks will see Grade 11 students starting on their journey to searching and discovering their future pathways. The platform Bridge-U will be officially launched in the coming days. Grade 10 students’ launch will follow in early February 2020. With this platform students will be able to discover their aptitudes, to explore job families and understand labour market demand, salary and related qualifications, to plan a well-rounded university study programme search and to short list universities.

With a database of over 26,000 global universities, the platform will surely widen the range of options students can consider in choosing the right post-secondary opportunities for them.
