Protecting Pikilia

HIGH SCHOOL

Ms Daphne Said - Art Department

Evil has almost taken over the whole world. The only town left that is full of goodness is Pikilia. Legend has it that a brave girl once sacrificed her life to protect Pikilia.

As the villagers prepare for their annual celebrations, trouble is brewing, the evil Odium is setting in motion a plan that will change Pikilia forever. Will he be able to extinguish all the good qualities from the town, or will the children save the day?

Villager, Villains, Fairy Godmothers, Puppeteers, Storytellers & Talking Furniture - this year’s High School Play was yet another unique experience for the 47 High School Drama & Music students who were involved and the 400 individuals aged between 4 & 70 who came to watch it.

The message behind this original script, which was devised and developed by IB Theatre students was to listen to your heart and always choose to be the best version of yourself!

Directing the cast this year was not such a difficult task because the students all took on a very active role in developing their characters and creating memorable moments throughout the performance.

Furthermore the support from staff members who helped with make-up, costumes, props, set construction, choreography, music, singing, administrative tasks & above all supporting students in so many ways. This could not have been achieved without your help!

Thank you to all of you that played a part in the realisation of this production.
