MALTMUN 2019 - Peacebuilding:

Promoting Sustainable Conflict Resolution

It focuses on modern issues facing the world in the 21st century. The conference is mainly attended by university students and older people, which made us the youngest group there. Considering our age I think we did extremely well and represented not only our club but our school very well. The three days are long and tiring, they involve a lot of work and energy, trying to maintain your countries view on such serious and detailed issues is a lot of work.

Over the three days I believe my debating skills definitely improved and I am extremely proud of how my confidence grew, not only in public speaking but also resolution writing. In fact I won the award for best delegate which I was so surprised by, yet extremely proud of my accomplishment. Winning best delegate showed how much my hard work paid off but also stepping out of my comfort zone had an effect. I had so much fun at this conference and it has made me realize my love for MUN and that I will definitely continue participating in future.

In the beginning of this scholastic year the MUN group was given the opportunity to attend MALTMUN 2019. This conference takes place over three days in the malteses houses of parliament and is an amazing experience.

MUN is an amazing place to discuss modern issues and debate on real life issues that are impacting our world and future, it is also a perfect opportunity to practice public speaking skills and grow ones confidence whilst learning how the United Nations functions and I highly recommend it to all. -Eve Sheasby
