As the end of the academic year fast approaches, we look back at the range of musical activities that have taken place at Verdala, celebrating the effort and enjoyment of all those involved.

After the success of the Thanksgiving Cup Rhythm performance that involved the whole of Middle School, the Christmas term finished with a concert to showcase the musical talents of some of the Middle School students. We saw performances on the Ukulele, percussion, and piano, to name a few, with the evening culminating in a debut performance by the newly formed Vocal Group.

The New Year kicked off with a musical bang, with the Vocal Group and chosen instrumentalists from Middle School and High School joining forces with St.George’s International School from Rome, who were on a week long music tour around Malta. The two day event began on the 28th February with an afternoon of musical workshops, and culminated in an exciting performance of various vocal and instrumental pieces on the 1st March in the High School Gym. This event involved over 100 students between the two schools and a lot of fun was had by everyone. It was agreed that this collaborative event is something that should be repeated!

On March 28th, after returning from the mid-term break, the Vocal Group was invited to perform at the Presidential Palace as part of the MUN opening ceremony. We were honoured to have been asked and the performance was filled with energy and excitement.
