Grade 7

Grade 7 students have recently completed the unit of ‘Resilience’. Their Exit Point activity required them to present their own success story to their grade. During the activity students were eagerly engaged to produce their best work.

Recently, grade 7 have started a new unit, ‘Curiosity’. For their Entry Point activity, the students visited Fort Rinella in Kalkara. This visit was planned to engage the students in the concept of ‘Curiosity’. Whilst visiting Rinella, students learnt about the history of the fort through a variety of interesting activities on site. One of the activities was a treasure hunt which encouraged teamwork and inspired exploration of the area.

Grade 8

During an Entry Point activity, Grade 8 students connected with the concept of ‘Interpretation’ through a creative writing piece based on abstract art. Students were provided with a picture, and created either poetry or prose that reflected their perspective. The students created some fantastic poems and stories based on the abstract art.

For their Exit Point activity, students were given a series of pictures from their teachers which reflected the concepts they had covered. They were asked to create a case study for one of the images and explore the perspectives presented and they were given freedom to choose how to present their work. Presentations included: narrative story, Google slides and creating a poster. Their presentations reflected an excellent understanding of the concepts covered, which connected to the Big Idea of ‘Interpretation’.
