Why are you in Earth Club?

“I am in the Earth Club because I felt if we have a small group of people we can definitely make the Earth better. We can share with the whole school our ideas and they can help us make at least a little bit of Malta cleaner.”

- Rana, Grade 4

“I am in Earth Club because I hate that our Earth is being treated like a rubbish bin. It is killing animals and getting into our food chain, which is sad and disgusting. I try to make little changes and ask people to try to reduce, reuse and recycle, like my grandpa is doing.”

- Ellie, Grade 5

“I am in Earth Club because I wanted to make the garden. My favorite part is growing a lot of vegetables. Second, I wanted to do clean-ups to help clean Pembroke and other parts of Malta. This is important to me because Malta is a pretty place with a lot of rubbish, but we can help clean it up and make a better habitat for us.”

- Kate, Grade 4

“I want to be in Earth Club to be a part of the garden because it is cool and would be a good experience. I have learned how you harvest lettuce out of the soil.”

- Liam, Grade 5

Our goals for this year are to continue to develop our garden, sell our vegetables and herbs, create an environmental awareness assembly for Early Years, organize an Earth Fun Day, run a whole-school trash cleanup, hold an educational assembly for the elementary school, and to keep collecting the recycling and compost throughout the elementary school.
