The Football Pink Volume 2 | Page 4

Introduction Hello again, for those of you that have returned to The Football Pink after our first release. And for those just joining us, where the hell were you? We’ve been waiting! I’d like to thank you for downloading our second quarterly issue and we hope to repay that faith with some cracking articles. I’m confident our specially selected writers will deliver the goods. Speaking of which, you probably want some kind of idea what to expect in the magazine this time around. Well, football journalism kicks us off and gets a bit of a kicking in the process; deserved or not? You decide after you’ve read this eloquent, if slightly militant piece. We like our quirky football history and nostalgia here at TFP and you’re going to get a healthy dose of it with superb pieces about the vicious Soviet secret police chief, Lavrenty Beria, übercool German maestro, Gunter Netzer and the second in our series about Irish centre-backs of the last 25 years. Since the first issue came out, the new season has swung into action and we examine the effect Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement has had on the quality of the Premier League as well as a forward glance or two towards next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil, albeit through more romantic and yearning sentiments. Throw in some stuff about the unofficial champions of England, the merits of the loan system, hating football and being sick to the back teeth of round-the-clock coverage and you’ve got all the ingredients for quite a mixture of footy-related reading to bury your head in. Don’t say we haven’t done our best for you! Seriously though, thanks once again for taking the time and effort to download and read our magazine, your continued support means so much to us at The Football Pink. Keep an eye out for issue 3 in early 2014. Check out our website too http://footballpink.net and follow us on Twitter @TheFootballPink MARK GODFREY - EDITOR
