Cooking Corner Two delicious Florence + the Machine inspired cakes, by Michael Kayaerts “Hotter Than Hell” Murzynek (Polish chocolate cake) Method 1. In a medium saucepan over low heat melt the butter. 2. Add milk and sugar. Mix until sugar dissolves. 3. Add cocoa powder, chilli pepper and mix. Ingredients: 4. Reserve 2/3 of a cup of the mixture and let the rest 1 cup and 2 tbs (250 g) of butter of the mixture cool down slightly. 1 and 1/2 cups flour 1 cup sugar 5. Separate the eggs. 1/2 cup milk Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks. 4 tbs sifted cocoa powder 1 tsp Chil l i pepper (powder) Chill 6. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract to the cocoa 4 eggs batter, mix well and then add 2 tsp baking powder flour and mix again until well combined. 1 tsp vanilla extract Golden glitter flakes (for decoration) 7. Add the beaten egg whites to the batter, gently fold in with a wooden spoon or a spatula. 8. Spray your baking pan with a non-stick spray/oil. Transfer the batter into the baking pan. 9. Bake for 45 min at 180˚C. 10. Remove from the baking pan and let it cool. Glaze with reserved chocolate mix. Sprinkle with golden glitter flakes The Flow Magazine – Issue 7/Summer 2014 19
