Again, this is the sort of thing you can start and then put your phone away and forget about until the end
of the trip. Once you “Stop” and then “Save” the trip log, you can play it back like a video and watch yourself move around the water. Navionics calls this a “Track.”
But you can also do the same sort of thing in reverse with a “Route.” A Route is a path that you lay out in advance and then you can follow it when you’re on the water.
This feature is particularly useful to me in the salt because of the tides. The short version is that I want the tide to pull me away from my launch area when I start my trip and push me back to it when I’m done.
But the tide isn’t always going to change when I want it to, so sometimes you rush one direction and mosey about in the other.
