Steampunks of Metro Detroit, assemble! We are entering a very exciting period of creative
collaboration, a brazen age of steam if you will. Never before have there been such a plethora of events,
meet ups, invasions, think tanks, fundraisers, and shows to partake in, and such a wealth of choices can be
overwhelming. We are in the process of charting the various organizations both local and regional, and
strive to deliver crucial intelligence on their offerings. Event hosts from other Fleets and Unions are
invited to advertise in digital, print, and promotional booth formats.
The Rivet Fleet of the United Armada is primarily concerned with industrialism and commerce,
which is why our events are focused on artisans and makers. With the development of the Arcade, we will
establish resources for local entrepreneurs to utilize and create opportunities for independence, design
and prosperity. We scour the region for the most innovative talent, so whether you are interested in
joining the adventure as a presenter or patron, be sure to check out our homepage, as well as Facebook
group and Pinterest to get the latest event information!
The most important initiative we are asking the community to take right now, is to organize and
register their ships in the Fleet. We want to see inventions, costumes, ship designs, back stories, mission
debriefings, service projects, panels, and demos. Help us piece together the map of Metro Detroit with
coverage in every city, and let’s all strive to make steampunk as accessible to everyone as possible via a
few key directives: neighborly compassion, appreciation of diversity, constructive criticism where
requested, ethical business practices, awareness and safety at events, and respect of personal property
and space.
