You ’ ve got to get your look just right . Nothing corporate or fancy . Only the finest cotton surf T . Shirts , board shorts and slops . No big slogans that wanna be surfers from the city wear . Neutral colored hoodies for colder weather on the beach is perfect . You ’ re looking for classic surf style items . Search for your favorite surfers on Pinterest or Instagram to see what they wear and copy them .
Your Playlist
When you are having your friends over please don ’ t under any circumstances play hip hop or pop . Your playlist should include Jack Johnson , Aqua Velvets , Surf Punks , The Astronauts , Weezer , Georgia Fair and Ben Howard
Your Living Space
Create the mood at home . Your pad doesn ’ t have to be enormous . You are looking for a modest dwelling with an entertainment area where your friends can chill out . Think faded blues and greys with a splash of color here and there . Nothing too busy or exciting , it ’ s all about the chill factor here . Walls should be neutral with either a white or grey palette . Couches should be faded and comfortable , somewhere you can take an afternoon nap . Opt for retro pillows to add some color while your carpet should be a faded blue or something similar to create a soothing ocean feel to your space . Have some fun here . Retro surf posters always work well and don ’ t forget classic surf coffee table books to add authenticity .
Have a dedicated display space for your quiver . Your friends need to see your surf boards . You need at least two or three hanging on your wall or standing upright . You are putting it out there that you are a surfer living a
