skies coupled with warmer than normal
temperatures greeted us, there was a little
more mud than usual but nothing to put
anyone off.
From about 9.30am the show began to
rapidly fill up and by 11am the show was
busy including the indoor areas. There
seemed to be a very positive buzz every-
where. I spoke to a lot of farmers who
said they had been looking forward the
show as a chance to meet fellow farmers
they don’t see often, spend time with their
suppliers and quite a number said they
were coming to buy. Speaking to several
the exhibitors they reported great interest
from first time security barrier company
TRIPLE STOP to established exhibitors like
Bainbridge Engineering who reported a
high number of leads on the day as well as
sales.
This year the number of exhibitors was
up to 230 and judging by the take up of all

the extra parking facilities visitors’ numbers
were up again.
As well as a good supply of external ca-
tering facilities around the show, the YAMS
team provided their usual high-quality
catering – bacon and sausage sandwiches
etc and those ever-popular Hog Roasts.
From the moment the mouth-watering
pork and crackling is available there is a
permanent queue of farmers and exhibi-
tors who know what’s good for them!
Richard Tasker and his team design and
run the show like a well-oiled machine
