We bull in April. All females are sold for breed- ing to either commercial suckler or other pedigree operations as well as providing our replacements. We sell 6-10 stock bulls per year with the remainder going in to Selby livestock market or ABP in York at around 15 months.’ Angus is equally concerned about soil where his cattle graze and undertakes mob grazing, moving his cattle on regularly in half an acre blocks allowing the grass and soil to recover so that his very tight stock grazing system only sees the cattle on each portion of land three days per year.
