Our team work directly with farmers, many who own stock themselves, to give practical advice on farm to maintain flock health, fertility and productivity. “New Hall Farm has used our products for a number of years, and since we have always supported the local farming com- munity, it was a natural step for us to get involved when they were chosen as the host farm for the 2019 event. “I am really looking forward to not only speaking with many sheep farmers on the day about the range of products and ser- vices we offer but being part of an industry showcase.” A variety of workshops will be available on the day, and will include ‘What Re- search Proves’ with Crystalyx; ‘A Practical Guide to Soil Health, Grass Utilisation and Genetics – Joining the Dots to Make Mon- ey’ from Innovis; and “Simple Steps to a Sound Flock”; a talk on how to implement the proven 5 Point Plan to reduce lame- ness, given by Alexandra Ashworth, Vet Advisor for MSD Animal Health UK. A key element at this year’s NSA North Sheep will be Booths Lamb Corner, where Colin Porter, Customer Experience Manag- er at Booths, will offer a selection of lamb dishes for all to taste. As a trained butcher, Colin will discuss the different lamb prod- ucts available, and its versatility. As part of ‘The Booths Experience’, John Gill, Head of Marketing and Trading; and David Simons, Meat Buyer, will demon- strate its ethos, relationships with custom- ers, and local communities, and what it looks for in potential suppliers. David will offer guidance to becoming stocked in a supermarket and new product develop- ment. Demonstrations will include Cheese Making with Sheep Milk by Andy Swincote; Sheep Dog Handling by James Dewhirst; Crook Making/Dressing by Dennis Wall; Lamb Carcase Dressing by the Beltex Sheep Society; and Dry-stone Walling by Peter Halliday.
