Learn to identify and observe them in the deep night sky above McCloud Nature Park! The Indiana Astronomical Society will present a brief informational session, rain or shine, describing the celestial objects to be observed, followed by outdoor stargazing under clear skies only. Learn to use the powerful telescopes that we provide, or bring your own. McCloud Nature Park Join us at McCloud for our third annual Honeybee Fest, celebrating the importance of our pollinators! Check out the honeybees in the Bee House observation honeybee hives! Master beekeepers will be teaching the basics of backyard beekeeping. Enjoy games and activities, and buzz around the vendor booths to browse some great honey products, and support our wonderful bees! Activities while supplies last. See page 19 for more details. Presented by Join us at McCloud Nature Park on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as we celebrate the park’s 15th Anniversary! McCloud Nature Park opened to the public on May 3, 2003, and we are celebrating its Crystal Anniversary with a day-long festival at the park. Bring the entire family out to McCloud for this FREE celebration and enjoy presentations, demonstrations, and activities that honor McCloud Nature Park’s past, present, and future. Explore the IUPUI Center for Earth and Environmental Science’s Mobile STEM Program, try your hand at throwing an atlatl, enjoy guided hikes to McCloud’s many points of interest, play some yard games with with Danville Parks & Recreation and Brownsburg Parks & Recreation, take a walk across the Bridge to the Future, learn how McCloud Nature Park came to be from Park Board President Paul Miner, discover what the future holds for McCloud and our other parks, and much more! Food trucks will have lunch available for purchase, and you can also purchase McCloud Maple Syrup and commemorative 15th Anniversary merchandise while you’re there to celebrate this special event!
