The Essence of Interior Design (June 2013) | Page 9

PEOPLE CENTRIC Buildings are planned and designed for the use of people. This has been our main focus and concern in all our interior design projects. The provision of spaces within and outside buildings should be relevant to each project and imbued with the right character and ambience so that the users feel comfortable and enjoy the environment created. Whether it is a shopping center, office, hospitality or any building where people congregate or use them as meeting places, a place for recreation and relaxation it is paramount that the environment created exude a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Project developments are increasing focused on returns on investment and often without much provision for public spaces which are often regarded as not revenue generating components. In our undertaking of such developments we have always placed public spaces as a key component in our design regardless of how restrictive they are. We believe that the close synthesis of public and private spaces to bring out the best of both will enhance the overall quality of the project.
