First time conference attendee confession: I attended my first
Kappa Delta Chi conference and I am in awe. I am proud to be a penguin.
I am proud to be from the Alpha chapter and humbled to be part of the Alpha class. I am blessed to have a wonderful big sis, Melissa Cannon. I was able to see one of my littles, Becky Aleman. I was able to celebrate with recent graduates in a photo shoot by Tiffany Hopwood. I met new and seasoned sisters. I am grateful for my new Houston Alumni Chapter sisters. My confession is how could I have deprived myself all these years from such an amazing experience.
Thank you to all of the beautiful penguins, I hope to see as many of you as possible July 2017!

I enjoyed this year’s conference, particularly sisterhood night and the quality of presenters we had for sessions were great.
The first conference I attended was in 1998, in Arlington, TX, hosted by the Epsilon chapter. I had only been a sister for two years and bought everything I could get my hands on. That was the first year I believe that we held a talent show of sorts that all chapters participated in. It was great to see how chapters worked together and came up with such great skits! This was prior to most chapters stepping and strolling so you really got to see some creative ideas. Conference was also held at the university with sisters being driven from a smaller hotel to the university. It was nice to really see where the Epsilon sisters spent their time. I am most looking forward to spending time with my sisters and enjoying our time in Orlando. I love it when we have a service event that can encompass the sisterhood all participating, so I can’t wait to see what that looks like. Ultimately, the time with our sisters rejuvenates me not only for my work in KD Chi but as a professional and a parent. I know they always have back and it’s great to get away for a few days and just have fun.
