This summer we have been faced with natural disasters from floods to wild fires, causing people to relocate or loose things precious to them. We hope the natural world will calm down and we can continue to live in it’s silent peace, but maybe it's time we don’t separate the natural world that surrounds us and start seeing it as an important part of our survival.

Artist of the Month Ellen Andreassen

This month I spoke to an artist from Edmonton who had been focused on paintings which bring us face to face with the misty landscapes that surround us. Her name is Ellen Andreassen. This nature lover has been painting landscapes for many years and continues to inspire peace within all of us through the power of her paintbrush. Though nature is naturally calming, her art is defining, in that you get lost in each piece as if you were on a meditative journey through each image she creates.
