Another established Market that pops to mind this time of year, is the Butterdome Craft Sale. Now in its 28th year, the sale features over 275 of our most talented artists, artisans, and designers in the Canadian handmade community. For many creators, this is a preferable chance to sell their wares and interact directly with their customers.
Courtney Proctor, co-owner of Leah and Jade, designs and creates baby accessories such as bows and bonnets - which she markets direct on Etsy and through Pop Up sales venues. She says “markets give the designer an opportunity to sell and keep a pulse on what people are wanting. Picking the right market for your product is trial and error but a valuable learning experience. It is so rewarding seeing who each piece goes to and watching people interact with your product, whereas online you just get an address.”
