It's officially a thing! We are going to be doing monthly write ups on two artists that are part of Capital City Records!
For November, we are highlighting a couple Métis artists in support of Métis Week.
Every year on November 16, people across Canada pay tribute to the Right Honourable Louis Riel. A man that devoted his life to defending the rights and freedoms of the Métis people and subsequently sacrificed his life. His execution took place on November 16, 1885.
The Metis Nation of Alberta started a tradition where the week surrounding November 16 is to be referred to as Métis Week. During this period of time, events and ceremonies take place to commemorate individuals that continue to strive for the rights and support of the Métis people as well as honor the ones that have passed.
