The headliner for the all ages show was Edmonton's own Bleed. I have a soft, rotting place in my heart for these blood covered assholes. This all-ages show was a chance for my young pal Daemon to enjoy one of his metal icons live and in person. How often does a kid get to see a local, horror-inspired version of GWAR? (splash zone included)

My husband, Nefarious Gorehound is one of the blood soaked roadies that follows the band around and they sometimes give him scraps on stage. I am biased for this crap-tacular band, so I made sure to give you an extra long look at them live on Periscope:

That's a wrap.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable three days of metal. I would have liked to have been able to experience a couple more local bands, but the lineup we did have was pretty spectacular.

If you are one of these poor starving artists types like myself, this festival was a great value for the money.

If you have a little bit more cash to spare, you could make a really great summer long road trip following the metal festival circuit through Western Canadian Metal Festival Alliance.
