The stage is now opposite the bar, centrally located along the south wall. The hanging speakers are angled out at 45 degrees sending just the right amount of sound to each corner of the room. Sitting directly in front of the stage, just across the dance floor, you can still talk without having to raise your voice. And don’t think this is just a one Pony show. Moonshiners host music of all genres. In addition they have karaoke on Friday nights, end of the month trivia, line dance lessons and a host of other events, something for everyone. More often than not, the weekends are packed and rarely is there a cover charge. Another thing that Moonshiners is doing right. They’re promoting their shows, making it more of a bonus for their regular patrons, rather than something the patrons have to pay for. Their way of saying thank you for coming out the rest of the week, here’s some music to take you into the weekend, enjoy.

As long as we’re talking about live music, DRC is busy at work for the fifth season of Summer Sessions in Stony. Summer Sessions is at once a week, eight week concert series in the park. It takes place at Shikaoi Park, beside Town Hall and is free for all. The event has grown from averaging 70 people a show in the first year, to around 325 last year. Our 2018 finale show had 400 people show up to see Leaving Thomas in their only acoustic show of the year. The record, for attendance to see a show was the finale in 2017 where 600 people showed up to see Canadian country artist, Adam Gregory. Summer Sessions this year will have some surprises. If half of what we’re working on comes to fruition, it will arguably be the best of the five seasons. I will write about that as we get closer to June and the kickoff for 2019. I mean, if I can find time of my schedule.
