Oh Saturday is not over. The ever popular Kick Off Party is up next. This has been held in Billy Bob's, the country club attached to the hotel, in past years. This year however, with a growing portion of the ACMA being under 18, it was held in a ball room where their participation demonstrated a willingness to be as progressive as possible. The event "kicked off" with Steve Newsome turning it up a notch with his new single, Try Somethin' Different (at Canadian radio and download stores now), followed by Hailey Benedict and Renegade Station. Yep, quite the party. On no... It's not over. Approaching midnight, Ryan Langlois and his son Jonah hosted an Open Mic on the very same stage and there was a huge lineup of young and talented artists signing up for their spot to perform in front of their peers. Too late for this old writer, rumor is that there was jamming in the lobby, jamming in the rooms and jamming in the elevators.... The 11am Annual General Meeting would still come to early for some.
